The top floor is a public area designed for a variety of people to gather and socialize. The public environment has an open concept with a wall of horizontal windows that continues to the ceiling creating a space for free expression and the experience of being part of the larger world. The upper floor dominates the focus from the street and brings intrigue to the people below.
The ground level is the most used and convenient space. Hidden by the cantilevered floor above, it creates a secluded area. This space allows for privacy, relaxation, and refocusing with an access to outside. The interactions are small quick experiences, thus requiring smaller areas.
The basement level is for private encounters. The act of sharing a meal with others, although the size made vary, consists of individuals from one’s life. This group will contain its own set of social parameters. The movement of going downstairs to stone walls creates a feeling of solid and stable surroundings, like stepping into an accustomed and safe atmosphere.
