Rainier Beach Apartments

Inspired by Rainier Beach’s strong community, the design stimulates connections. The apartments above were separated into smaller clusters to encourage a better sense of ownership and connection to neighbors in their building and on their floors.

The gathering spaces between floors provide areas of ownership for the smaller community between floors. There are outdoor platforms between the buildings and larger gathering spaces on the roof. These locations are available for the whole building community to use.

The mixed-use building Rainier Beach Apartments is located next to the busiest intersection, surrounded by many schools and a community center. The ground floor provides commercial space for local businesses and a large cafe shop where the community can gather.
